1. Brill's Chinese Reference Library

Brill's Chinese Reference Library is a fast-growing online service offering reliable lexical and encyclopedic information for beginners and advanced readers of classical Chinese texts.

2. Subscriptions

Through your institution
The content on this platform is not freely accessible. Visitors may have access to this platform via a library subscription or purchase of their research institution. In most cases an institutional logo will then be shown on each page. Green rectangles before titles indicate full text access, white rectangles indicate no access, in which searching is possible, but the lemma text is not shown. Supported access options are IP-recognition, username/password combination and – for specific institutions – Athens login or login via your home institution.

3. Access to the platform

Chinese Reference Library supports IP recognition and access by username and password and access through Athens or Shibboleth.

4. Manage account details

Go to Brill Subscriber Services (subs.brillonline.nl).
Log in with your administrator username and password. Here you can do the following:

  • manage your subscriptions,
  • manage access details,
  • upload an institutional logo,
  • create and download usage reports. Like all Brill Online Reference Works, the Chinese Reference Library is COUNTER compliant and offers COUNTER statistics.
